Physical Therapy can work wonders for many people. Physical Therapy is a form of rehabilitation following an injury or ongoing condition. Physical therapy helps the body regain movement and mobility over a period of time. There are many ways in which a patient can help himself or herself obtain the maximum benefit from the therapy sessions

  2. Step 2

First, make sure you alert the therapist if you develop any additional pain or discomfort. In addition, make sure you participate in any exercises that the therapist may prescribe for you. Many times therapists will give patients exercises to be done at home. Many of the prescribed exercises require stretching and muscle movements.

  3. Step 3

Finally, it always helps if the patient starts therapy with a positive attitude. A positive attitude appears to contribute to a successful recovery in the majority of adults. In addition, if your doctor prescribes medication to aid you with the recovery, make sure you take all medication as directed even if you feel you may not need it.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you feel some of the exercises are too demanding, make sure you alert the therapist.
