Plant beautiful flowers, such as the sunflower this summer. Sunflowers are beautiful flowers and they actually come in all sizes and colors. Plant a dwarf or a gigantic white, red, orange, or yellow sunflower. Read a few tips below and watch your sunflower grow.

  • Sunflower seeds
  1. Step 1

    Consider what type and size of sunflower you want. Buy a few sunflower seeds and a pot to start growing your sunflower inside your home or plant directly in your garden of rich soil. Read the package to find out when to plant that particular sunflower.

  2. Step 2

    Give you sunflower lots of sun and water, hint the name “sun” flower.:) Watch the plant lean towards the sun when just starting out.

  3. Step 3

    Plant the sunflower in late May to early June and you can expect a sunflower to bloom in August, about 70 to 90 days. Be patient as you watch your sunflower grow.

  4. Step 4

    Make sure to plant the sunflower in a sunny area in your garden. Avoid shady areas where trees may shade it.

  5. Step 5

    Water your sunflower heavily about one to two times a week for a month and then a little every day. Give it plenty of water, but not too much that it causes the stems to droop and become weak.
