This is a very easy way to make a tie-dye t-shirt. It makes very interesting patterns and is easier to do than traditional tie-dye! And the best part? It's virtually mess-free!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White t-shirt
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Rubber bands
  • Eye dropper
  • Permanent markers
  • Plastic disposable cup
  1. Step 1

Select a part of the t-shirt to work on. Stretch a portion of the shirt around the opening of a plastic drinking cup. Secure it with the rubber band.

  2. Step 2

Take a permanent marker and make a few dots in the middle of the portion of shirt you are working on. It's important to stay in the middle of the circle. Use only a few colors at a time.

  3. Step 3

Draw some rubbing alcohol up the eye-dropper. Drop a few drops of the alcohol onto the marker on the shirt and watch it spread.

  4. Step 4

When your are satisified with the pattern it created, pull off the rubber band and gather a new section of the shirt to work on. Repeat the previous directions until the shirt is finished.

  5. Step 5

Throw it in the dryer to set the tie-dye.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to use the right amount of rubbing alcohol. You may want to experiment on a scrap piece of fabric.
  • This requires adult supervision since you are working with rubbing alcohol.
