Use this method to melt butter in the microwave and it will melt evenly and quickly without making a mess by exploding in your microwave!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • butter
  • glass bowl
  • paper towel or
  • coffee filter
  1. Step 1

Cut your butter into small pieces. Just cut the stick it into slices about 1/2 inch thick. Put the butter in a glass bowl and spread the pieces out evenly. If you are melting a lot of butter you can use a square or rectangular casserole dish so you have room to spread out all the pieces of butter.

  2. Step 2

Put the dish of butter in the microwave and cover the bowl or dish with a paper towel or one or two coffee filters (coffee filters are cheap and are great to use to cover food in the microwave!).

  3. Step 3

Turn the microwave on for just 5 to 10 seconds then check to see the progress and stir. Microwave for another 5 to 10 seconds and check and stir again. Do this until it's evenly melted. If should only take about 30 seconds total.
