Do you suffer from anxiety? Anxiety is feeling nervous, uptight, uneasy, or apprehensive. Some people do nothing to cope with anxiety or avoid situations that are to difficult for them. If you are experiencing anxiety, you are not alone and there are healthy ways to cope.

  • An open mind
  • Patience
  1. Step 1
     

    Understand what "coping" means. Coping is to contend with difficulty or stress and attempt to overcome.

  2. Step 2
     

    Learn techniques for coping with anxiety.
    Relaxation, preparation and practice, mental reharsal, deep breathing, and positive thinking are all healthy ways for dealing with anxiety.

  3. Step 3

    Relax. Relaxation is a form of relief from effort or strain. Put aside a half an hour of your day to yourself. Shut off your cell phone, and eliminate any potential forms of communication. Lay down and listen to soothing music and clear your mind. Do this at least once a day.

  4. Step 4

    Change the way you are thinking. If you eliminate negative thinking, it will improve your mood.

  • Anxiety is a normal part of life. We can deal or cope with anxiety in healthy or non-healthy ways.
  • Using or abusing substances only masks feelings of anxiety and is an unhealthy way to cope with anxiety.
