Step 1
Choose a name, and get a website set up. You don’t need to be super clever in the choice for a name, but it should reflect your service with the words “poetry” or “review” in the title. Doing so will help search engines find you. When a poet is looking for a review, he or she will likely do an Internet search to find you.
-
Step 2
Choose which types of services you’d like to include. For example, will you offer different levels of reviews? Will you help promote the review on social networking sites? What about interviews? You might want to offer a selection of different services so poets can choose the package just right for them.
-
Step 3
Determine pricing. You can offer free reviews, or decide to charge based on the level of service you provide. A straight review is one thing, a review that includes promotion or an interview is something else. Base your price, if you decide to charge one, on the time it takes for you to read the book, collect your thoughts, and craft a professional review. Think about your costs for running the website, and time it may take to conduct and post an interview.

Step 4
Start writing a blog. A blog will be another way for you to discuss your love of poetry, while at the same time update poets on news, contests, and other reviews. The more valuable information in your blog, the more readers you will naturally attract.
-
Step 5
Advertise. Start with your own blog, and place an ad that leads to your website. Look for other writing outlets and newsletters and ask them if they can put in a word about your service. Some will do it for free; some will charge a nominal amount.
