Things You'll Need:
- computer
- internet
- phone
- childcare experience
-
Step 1
SITTERCITY
Sign-up is free for sitters, but they're required to fill out a pretty lengthy profile. Background checks are extra. Lots of job postings are listed throughout the day. -
Step 2
CRAIGSLIST
Sign-up is free, and virtually nothing is required of the sitter of the parent. You could write one line or post your whole resume. Most people seem to explain themselves well, however. I've gotten jobs here before and I had a good experience. -
Step 3
SITTERS.COM
Free sign-up, background check and "featured" listing not included. Profile goes under 24 hour review period. Again, there is a lot of information that is required in the profile. -
Step 4
CARE.COM
Also free minus background check and featured status, with a lengthy profile. Lots of jobs updated daily. This site seems the most legitimate, actually. -
Step 5
OODLE
Formatting more like Craigslist, but with a lot less anonymous feel. Probably my least favorite.
