How to Convert a Garage Band to MP3

GarageBand is a fun, easy way to record music on your computer. Once you have finished recording tracks for a song, you can save it to a disk as an MP3 file. The program makes this very easy to do, and compresses the file to a convenient size without sacrificing sound quality.

Things You'll Need

• GarageBand software
• Finished GarageBand track in a .band file

Instructions

1. Finish your track. Add any effects you may want and tweak the levels so that you are satisfied with them.

2. Make sure there is nothing you want to change about the track. Complete finishing touches.

3. Go to the top of the screen for the GarageBand menu bar. Click on "Share."

4. Select the option "Export Song to Disk."

5. Select "High Quality" for a good file size-to-sound quality ratio. Make sure it also says, "Compress using MP3 encoder."

6. Click "Export" and select where you want the file saved. Hit "Enter." The track will be encoded as an MP3 file.
