## Determine Your Height

Determine your height in order to find your perfect weight. In bare feet, stand against the wall.

Place a ruler or other flat object on top of your head. Hold the item perfectly horizontal and mark the point on the wall where the ruler hits.

Measure from the floor to the mark on the wall to determine your height. Round this number to the nearest inch. For this formula, we'll need your height in feet and inches.

## Determining Your Perfect Weight - For Women

Write down your height on a piece of paper.

Learn the formula for calculating ideal weight. This weight calculation formula uses 5 feet as the starting point. A woman who is 5 feet tall should weigh 100 lbs. For each additional inch of height, add 5 lbs. If you are shorter than 5 feet, subtract 5 lbs. for each inch of height.

Do the math that will determine your perfect weight. For women over 5 feet, take the "inches" portion of your height. Multiply this number by 5. In the case of a woman who is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, we get 30. For women shorter than 5 feet, determine how many inches your height is below 5 feet. If you are 4 feet, 10 inches tall, you are 2 inches below the 5-foot mark. You will multiply 2 by 5 to get 10.

Calculate your perfect weight. If you're taller than 5 feet, take the number from Step 3 and add it to 100 lbs. This will be your ideal weight. So, for a woman who is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, the ideal weight is 130 lbs. If you're shorter than 5 feet, take the number from Step 3 and subtract it from 100 lbs. This will be your ideal weight. So, for a woman who is 4 feet, 10 inches tall, the ideal weight is 90 lbs.

## Determining Your Perfect Weight - For Men

Write down your height on a piece of paper.

Learn the formula for calculating ideal weight. This perfect weight calculation formula uses 6 feet as the starting point. A man who is 6 feet tall should weigh 170 lbs. For each additional inch of height, add 5 lbs. If you are shorter than 6 feet, subtract 5 lbs. for each inch of height.

Do the math that will determine your perfect weight. For men taller than 6 feet, take the "inches" portion of your height (2 for a man who is 6 feet, 2 inches tall). Multiply this number by 5. In the case of a man who is 6 feet, 2 inches tall, we get 10. For men shorter than 6 feet, determine how many inches your height is below 6 feet. If you are 5 feet, 10 inches tall, you are 2 inches below the 6-foot mark. You will multiply 2 by 5 to get 10.

Calculate your perfect weight. If you're taller than 6 feet, take the number from Step 3 and add it to 170 lbs. This will be your ideal weight. So, for a man who is 6 feet, 2 inches tall, the ideal weight is 180 lbs. If you're shorter than 6 feet, take the number from Step 3 and subtract it from 170 lbs. This will be your ideal weight. So, for a man who is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, the ideal weight is 160 lbs.
