Even if you take the best possible care of your Nintendo DS, you may still have to clean it on occasion. Fingerprints and smudges are easily removed with a little care. Even accumulations in the corner of the screens can be removed with a few simple steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Soft, clean cloth
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpick
  • Wet cloth
  1. Step 1

Use a soft clean cloth, such as one that is used for cleaning eyeglasses, to clean the DS screens. Gently rub both screens with the cloth, as you don't want to apply too much pressure and damage the screens. Rub each screen for 30 seconds to 1 minute. This should remove any smudges and fingerprints.

  2. Step 2

Hold the DS vertically with the edge that needs cleaning at the top, to remove dirt and other foreign particles. Use your thumb to gently press the screen near the area that needs cleaning. This will create a small gap between the DS housing and the screen. Use the toothbrush to remove the particles by brushing from side to side.

  3. Step 3

Clean the case with a damp cloth. Close the case first before cleaning it to ensure the wet cloth doesn't touch the screens. To remove dirt from small crevices, use a toothpick.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you do not have a soft cloth, use a dollar bill to clean the screen.
  • Do not press too hard on your DS screen. If you can't remove the foreign particles yourself, you may have to send your DS off for service.
