How to Decorate a Sorority House
One of the best ways to develop lifelong friendships during college is to join a sorority. Girls who live in the sorority house with other "sisters" tend to get particularly close and develop tight bonds. A variety of activities take place at sorority houses, including socializing, studying, group activities and other gatherings. Get the most out of sorority life by decorating your house in a practical yet fun way that accommodates both the serious and leisure activities in which you and your sisters participate. 1
Hang a banner displaying your sorority name in a prominent place in the living room. Incorporate the Greek letters spelling your sorority name into a wall mural.
-
2
Decorate common areas with accents, such as throw pillows and blankets, in your sorority's colors. Arrange futons, couches and beanbags around a coffee table to make the living room a comfortable, welcoming place. This area can be used for group meals, playing games or hosting guests.

3
Emphasize sisterhood by framing photo collages or individual photos of you and the other girls and hanging them around the house.
-
4
Turn an empty room into a study area. Place shelves or cubicle storage units along the walls for the girls' books and other study materials. Place several inexpensive desks in the room. Make sure each desk has a lamp or is in close proximity to the main light source.
-
5
Write each girl's name on a plastic storage container in one of the sorority's colors. Place the containers on the bathroom counter, so each girl has a place for her toothbrush, shampoo and other products.
-
6
Paint the name of each girl on the door of her bedroom. Use feminine colors such as pink and purple. To avoid having to paint over the sign later, write the signs on paper with markers and glitter.
-
7
Place figurines of your sorority mascot and any awards or trophies that your sorority has won on shelves, tables and storage units around the house.
-
8
Save space by investing in several fold-up tables. Store them in a closet or in the garage, and bring them out when you want to put out snacks or supplies for a party or a sorority craft project.
