How to Get Album Artwork

You can use iTunes to find and add album artwork to the songs located in your iTunes library. This artwork will then appear on the list of albums and songs in the program. If you own an iPod that lists album artwork, the artwork you add to the albums will also appear on that iPod when you add those songs to the iPod. By following the steps listed below, you can add album artwork to songs on your computer.

  1. Finding Album Artwork

      Open iTunes.

      Click "Music" on the left side of iTunes.

      Click on an album that doesn't have any artwork. Right-click on that album and select "Get Album Artwork." If iTunes can find the album artwork, it will add the artwork to the album.

      Search for a picture of the album artwork. You can do this by using any Internet search engine. Type in the name of the album in the search bar, and you will find links to pages selling or describing that album. You will also find the artwork for that album on those Web pages. Right-click on the album artwork and select "Save As" to save the artwork to your computer.

      Open iTunes. Click the album you want to add artwork to and then click "File." Select "Get Info."

      Double-click the blank box. A window will open. Select the picture you downloaded and saved in Step 1 of this section.

      Click "OK" at the bottom of the window. The album artwork will then be added to those songs.
