How to Find Addresses on Google Earth

Finding an address can be tedious, especially when you're not really sure of what you're looking for. The Internet has made it easier to get door-to-door directions to your destination, but new technology has simplified it further. With Google Earth, you can enter the address, and be shown where you are going and what surrounds your destination.

Instructions

    • 1

Type the address you are trying to locate in the search box. This is located on the upper left-hand side.

    • 2

Click the magnifying glass that is located next to the search box. This will begin your search.

    • 3

Verify the address is correct by looking in the box below the search entry. If you typed road instead of street, Google Earth will ask you to verify the correct address.

    • 4

Delete the address if it is incorrect by pressing the "X" button, which is located below the box that shows the address you have entered.

    • 5

Use the zoom button to attempt to get a closer view of the address you are trying to locate. The zoom feature is located in the right-hand side and is symbolized by the plus and minus sign. To zoom in, move the slider toward the plus symbol. To zoom out, move the slider toward the minus symbol.

Tips & Warnings

  • Google Earth might not give you a clear view of the address you are trying to locate. When you zoom in, you might find the address gets more distorted.

  • Do not rely solely on Google Earth to show you the correct address. Sometimes it does not map out correctly, and it will show you what it believes to be the address you entered.
