Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • budget
  • paper
  • pencil
  • meal plan in advance
  • calculator
  1. Step 1

First things first, you need to sit down with your family and find out what they will eat and what they absolutely will not eat. Have your paper and pencil ready to write down their suggestions. If your children wont eat it, it isn't worth wasting money on. Here are a few suggestions for dinner meals.

  2. Step 2

Find things that will stretch and feed multiple people. One of the most important things to buy is a chub of hamburger, maybe two depending on how long you are shopping for. A chub of hamburger meat can be cut up into 4 parts and frozen. Buying 2 chubs will get you 8 parts of hamburger to make 8 meals with. Spaghetti, taco salad, sloppy joe's, and hamburger helper are a few easy suggestoins.

  3. Step 3

Chicken is also another great buy, you can make chicken soup, garlic chicken, chicken and rice casserole.
Don't forget to buy some frozen or canned vegetables, whichever ones are on sale. Only buying items on sale will help you save a lot of money on your grocery list.

Tips & Warnings
  • Hot dogs/buns are also another cheap meal for a night, don't forget to buy the mac and cheese.
