Things You'll Need:
- A Park (or other free or low cost place)
- Consignment shop
- Invitations
- Friends

Step 1
One of the highest costs of a wedding is the location. However, even in the smallest towns there are parks. Usually parks are very pretty during the summer months. Call your city hall and check to see if you are able to use the park. Most cities allow this for free. (mine does!) With all the flowers in bloom most of the decorations are done for you for free!

Step 2
The dress is the next highest cost. All women want the perfect dress for their perfect day. But believe it or not, many women sell their dresses in consignment shops. This is a great opportunity to save hundreds on the perfect dress. Sometimes one can even get lucky and find a tux for the groom! By this point you will have saved easily $500 or more on your wedding.

Step 3
Making invitations is the new fad. You can buy pretty parchment paper, ribbons, a hole puncher, and envelopes. You can either print them yourself on a printer at home or take them to a local print shop and have them do the printing. Depending on the number of invitations will determine which is more cost effective. Stick with black ink and the cost will be much lower! Save the color for the papers and ribbons. This allows you to create a special message and make the invitations more personable and memorable.

Step 4
Picture taking is an expense that can be lowered dramatically. You can either ask a friend to video tape the ceremony for you or you can set up a video recorder off to one side. You can also ask another friend to take the pictures of your wedding party. Most people have someone they know that is a closet photographer. Asking them to help with pictures can be a compliment to them and a huge savings for you. This can also open up the opportunity for the friend to take a few candid shots a professional photographer might miss. These are the shots that make the wedding special!
