We all know that pesticides are used everyday on the fruits and vegetables that we eat. As bugs become more immune to these pesticides more and more are being used. If you are concerned about you and your family ingesting these pesticides...worry no more. You can make simple solutions from ingredients found in your kitchen to remove pesticides from your fruits and vegetables. Always use vegetable wash before serving or preparing, not before storing. If you wash before storing they will rot faster. In this article I will show you how to make homemade vegetable wash.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Make a soaking solution with equal parts of water and white vinegar. Soak any fruits or vegetables for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse well. This is an excellant homemade vegetable wash.

  2. Step 2

A vegetable wash spray is a little more convenient. Make a homemade vegetable wash spray by mixing 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 2 tablespoons baking soda with equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Shake the bottle to mix well.

  3. Step 3

To clean the vegetables put them into a colander in the sink and spray liberally with the homemade vegetable wash spray. Let sit for a few minutes.

  4. Step 4

Scrub the fruits and vegetables with a brush and rinse thoroughly.

  5. Step 5

Avoid pesticides altogether by buying organic produce whenever possible. They are not sprayed with pesticides.
