Pregnancy can lead to many aches and pains in your body, including problems in your legs and feet. The added weight gain during pregnancy can alter a woman's center of gravity, adding pressure to your feet and knees. In this article, you will learn tips for easing foot pain during your pregnancy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Prop up your feet whenever you can and avoid crossing your legs or ankle. This could reduce circulation in your legs. Propping your feet will reduce swollen feet.

  2. Step 2

Stretch your legs often if you find you've been sitting for a long time.

  3. Step 3

Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Try to avoid foods that have a lot of salt because this will increase your fluid retention.

  4. Step 4

Prevent leg cramps by exercising the muscles gently by rotating your ankles to the left and right. If you get a leg cramp, walk it out.

  5. Step 5

Wear comfortable and supportive shoes that fit well or over-the-counter arch supports. Extra weight from pregnancy require extra support for the feet. Wear running shoes for everyday walking or exercise.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be aware that during your pregnancy, your shoe size may change.
