Open a GIF editing software program, such as Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Fireworks. There are GIF editing programs online that you can use for free, such as GIF Works.

Click on "File" to open the GIF you would like to edit. Proceed to edit the GIF accordingly. For example, you can do things like rotate, crop, change the coloring, and change effects and animation.

Save the modified GIF under another file name once you have completed the modification. By saving the modified GIF under another file name, you will still have access to your original GIF.
