Adobe Photoshop CS3 is one of the most popular graphics program in the world. It has countless uses in business, entertainment, and the media. Artists also use it for collage. A collage is a wonderful way to present a group of photos or other images as a single image. It can be used in a scrapbook, a brochure or on a website. Creating a collage is easy to do if you have Photoshop CS3, although these instructions will work with any version of Photoshop.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Photoshop CS3
  1. Step 1

Open Photoshop CS3. In the dialog box that opens, make the size and resolution settings whatever you need for your project. For instance, if you are placing this collage on the web, you can make the resolution 72. But if you are having it printed professionally make the resolution at least 150. Name the document "Collage 1", and click "OK".

  2. Step 2

Go to the Toolbar, and change the "Foreground" color to whatever you want the background color of your collage to be. Then go to the "Fill" tool, and fill the canvas with the color you picked.

  3. Step 3

Open one of the images you want to add to the collage. Go to Select, and click "Select All". Then go to "Edit", and then "Copy". Finally, "Paste" the image into "Collage 1". It will come in on its own layer.

  4. Step 4

Go to "Edit" and then Transform and select "Scale" to resize the pasted image to whatever size you want it to be in the collage, and "Rotate" to rotate it. Then use the "Move" tool to position it where you want it.

  5. Step 5

Repeat Step 4 with each of the images you want to add to the collage. Then go to "File", click "Save As" and from the listed file types save the image as a PSD file. Finally, do this again, but save the image as a high resolution JPEG.
