Complete assembly of your bouquet. Once you wrap your wedding bouquet stems together, it makes it more difficult to change the design of your bouquet.

    • 2

Hold the bunch of long stems tightly. Securing the stems with rubber bands at the top, middle and bottom will make the wrapping process much easier, but it isn't required. Be sure to hold the stems just under the blossoms, but do it carefully so you do not to damage any of the flowers.

Use ribbon that is at least 1-inch thick to wrap the stems. Double-sided satin ribbon is the easiest to wrap and will lay with the most ease, but you can use any ribbon. Wrap the stems completely and tightly. Start at the bottom of the stems and tightly wind the ribbon around the stems working your way up. Remember to leave an inch or two at the bottom of exposed stems to make the ribbon look "centered" on the stems.

Secure the ribbon with long, straight pins. After you are satisfied with the tightness and coverage of the ribbon, use long pins to attach the ribbon to the stems. Using two or three pins, stick the pins alternating under and over to be sure you are piercing both the stem and the ribbon. If you don't go deep enough to pierce the stem, the ribbon will not stay in place. Be sure the points of the pins are tucked into the ribbon so that the pins don't poke you when you hold it.

Add embellishments. You can add charms, monograms or any other special token to the base of your wedding bouquet stems to make it even more personalized.
