How to Create an Avatar Face

An avatar face represents you pictorially on websites and through email. The easiest way to make one is to go to an online site like FaceYourManga, where you can create your face by choosing options. Note that the site will ask for your email address so it can send you the final avatar.

Instructions

1. 

   Go to the FaceYourManga website and click the "Create" button.

2. 

   Select your gender, which in this example is "Male." The creation display appears with option buttons on the right and the avatar face on the left. The face changes interactively with your choices.

3. 

   Click on the top "Face" button to show a submenu. Click on the "Features" button to show the "Features" library. Note that this library, like many others on this site, consists of multiple pages. You can display the next page by clicking the arrow keys in the lower right.

4. 

   Click the icon for the feature you want. This example uses the middle icon at the top.

5. 

   Choose a face color under the avatar face. This example uses the second color on the second row.

6. 

   Define your face further by clicking feature buttons as needed. Note how some options, such as the "Eyebrow" option of the "Eyes" button, activate the "Move" panel under the "Library" panel. Clicking on the "Up" arrow moves a feature up while clicking on the "Down" arrow moves it down.

7. 

   If you change your mind on some additions, such as glasses, click the "X" icon that appears as the first choice in the library.

8. 

   Click the "Makeup" button to add makeup to either gender. A makeup face appears in the middle of the screen. Click on the lips, cheeks or eyelashes and then a color option to add color to those areas. Clicking on the makeup face part again removes the makeup.

9. 

   Click the "Finish" button after defining all your options. A dialog box confirms that your avatar is permanent and that you cannot return to the previous pages. Click the "OK" button. The "Download Your Avatar" dialog box appears.

10. Fill in the boxes on the form; all information is required. Click the "Privacy" checkbox and then click the "Send" button. The website acknowledges sending your avatar to the entered email address.

11. Check your email. The avatar face arrives as a 178 pixel square JPG file. Save the avatar to your hard disk.
