Things You'll Need:
- Digital photo editing software
-
Step 1
Right-click once on the Windows "Start" button and select the "Explore" option.
-
Step 2
Select the folder or folders to which the images you want to burn to CD have been saved. Before beginning this process, it may be helpful to have all of the pictures saved to one folder. It also helps to have created another folder in which to store the reduced files, in order to separate them for burning.
-
Step 3
Right-click once on one of the image files and then once on "Open With" and select the photo-editing software you plan to use. In this example, Microsoft Office Picture Manager is used.
-
Step 4
Click once on the "Picture" drop-down menu and select the "Compress Pictures" option.
-
Step 5
Choose one of the compression options from the "Compress Pictures" pane. The reduced file sizes vary, so it's your choice how small to make them, depending on the number of files you plan to reduce. Use caution when choosing a compression size, as the lower the size the lower the picture quality. Click once on the "OK" button after making your selection.
-
Step 6
Click once on the "File" drop-down menu and select the "Save As" option. Choose the second folder you created from the "Save In" drop-down menu, rename the file and click once on the "Save" button.
