How to Draw Dark Magician Girl

Collectible card games like Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh have created thousands of strange and unique characters that do battle with one another. These characters can be monstrous, cute, wicked, noble or even entirely magical. Because there are so many different characters in these universes, each person can have their own favorite. Dark Magician Girl is a favorite of many players and fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh franchise. Her sassy attitude and magical powers make her stand out amongst other characters.

Things You'll Need

• Black ink pen
• Kneaded eraser
• Art markers

Instructions

1. 

   Draw the skeletal form of Dark Magician Girl with simple lines and shapes. Do this by drawing a circle for the head. Attach a "V" shape at the bottom of this circle to create the chin. Draw a cross in the center of the face for the guidelines for the facial details. Add the torso with a rectangular shape, the hips just below with a triangular shape and create the arms and legs with cylinders. Use one cylinder for each section of the limbs so that the upper arm would get one cylinder and the lower arm would get another slightly smaller cylinder. Do this for the legs as well.

2. 

   Add the characteristic witch's hat to the top of the Dark Magician Girl's head with a large cone that curves to the left at the tip. Add the hair with curved cone shapes that point downwards from her head. Add the eyes with two circles on the guideline with a small horizontal line attached to the top of the circle. Create the nose with a sideways "V" shape below the eyes and the mouth with an upside down triangle.

3. 

   Draw the costume of Dark Magician Girl on the frame you have created. Draw the shoulders of the costume with a large curved triangle on each side. Add a downward arrow shaped design to the torso. Create the skirt with two diagonal rectangles coming out from the left and right of the sides of the hip. Add the wand with a diagonal line that has a large circle attached to the bottom and a small circle attached to the top. Add the forearm sleeves with parallel lines drawn around the forearm to create each sleeve. Add three curved lines to the hat to act as spiral rings.

4. 

   Erase any overlapping lines leaving behind a clean figure drawing of Dark Magician Girl. Add jewels by drawing small circles on the top and bottom of the forearm sleeves. Ink the entire drawing. Let the ink dry and carefully erase your pencil lines.

5. 

   Color the illustration of Dark Magic Girl using art markers to add an extra touch of detail. Use blue for the at and clothing. Use pink for the trim on the clothes as well as the skirt. Color the hair blond, skin light flesh colored and the eyes blue. Use a yellow orange or gold marker for the wand.

Tips & Warnings

• Once you have mastered the form of Dark Magician Girl, try putting her in different poses.

• Be sure to place a sheet of paper under your illustration when you color it, or the ink could bleed through.
