How to Save Metacafe Videos

The method for downloading Metacafe videos onto your computer will depend on the converting software or application you choose. There are a number of applications that will do the conversion, but whatever software you use, the advice offered here will work best in an Internet Explorer or Firefox browser.

Instructions

Step 1

Have the Metacafe video that you would like to save open before continuing to the next step.
Step 2

Open a video conversion application in another tab or window (see Resources). For this example, we'll use Media Converter.
Step 3

Go to the Metacafe video you want to convert and copy the URL (link) of the video. Highlight the URL in the navigation bar of your browser, then hold down "Ctrl" and "C" on your keyboard at the same time. Go back to window with the converter page open and click on the "Enter a Link" option. Paste the link into the text box by pressing "Ctrl" and "V" at the same time.
Step 4

Click "Download" and wait. Choose which type of file you'd like the video to be converted to.
Step 5

Make sure the file is saved to your computer after it is downloaded. It should go into the folder that your downloads normally go into. Open the video to make sure it was properly converted.
