The Yu-Gi-Oh! card game is an incredibly fun and addictive collectible card game that is easy to get into and play. As you collect cards and begin to play with others, you'll want to begin to set up decks that fit the requirements for Yu-Gi-Oh! league and tournament play. The process of building such decks is fairly straightforward and can be as much fun as playing. There are many choices to make when constructing a deck and building is as much an art as a science.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • More than forty Yu-Gi-Oh! cards
  1. Step 1

Organize your cards by type and level, this will allow you to more easily make the choices that will affect your game play.

  2. Step 2

Select the forty to sixty cards that you most want. Remember to balance monster cards and traps with spells as you don't want to be caught off-guard by your opponent.

  3. Step 3

Be careful to make sure that you have plenty of low level monsters to offer as tribute if you are planning on packing high-powered cards.

  4. Step 4

Construct your Extra Deck. This deck holds all of your Fusion and Synchro monsters and may consist of up to 15 cards.

  5. Step 5

Build your Side Deck in the same fashion. This is a set of 15 cards you can switch out of your Main and Extra decks between matches.

Tips & Warnings
  • Forty card decks are more easily manageable as they have tighter combos and allow you to get to your key cards quicker.
  • Yu-Gi-Oh allows a maximum of 3 of the same card in each deck.
