    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • High-quality dog food
    • Leash and collar
    • Large, fenced yard
    • Contact information for local vet
    • Dog treats

Include your puppy in family activities as much as possible. Huskies love to be around people, and being part of the pack makes him feel secure. For this reason, husky puppies should never be outside dogs. They should be allowed in the house to be around family members.

Feed your puppy three times per day. Choose a high-quality food. The ingredients should not have fillers or by-products and should list as many specific foods as possible, such as specific vegetables and type of protein (not just meat). When the puppy is 4 months old, reduce this to one feeding in the morning and one at night. Feed according to how much your puppy weighs, as listed on the food bag.

Provide fresh water at all times, and groom her every day. Most huskies drink a lot about an hour after each meal and after exercise. In addition, huskies tend to get matted fur due to all of their activity. Groom her daily to remove dirt, weeds and bugs.

      • 4

House-train your puppy by taking her outside immediately after eating or drinking, as well as every time she wakes up from a nap. When she relieves herself, praise her lavishly and give her a treat.

      • 5

Exercise your puppy. Huskies are working dogs, and as such, even puppies need a lot of exercise. Provide a large, fenced backyard for her and take her for daily walks. Leash train her by first letting her drag a leash around the house for a day or two. Then, pick up the end of it and let her get used to the weight. Finally, try to lead her on it. Huskies can be stubborn. Obedience training is always a good idea with this breed.

      • 6

Vaccinate your puppy. Usually, the breeder gives the puppy his first set of shots. After that, you are responsible for taking your dog to a vet and getting him his shots. He must have a rabies shot by the time he is 6 months old.

The picture you have looks just like my puppy when I got her! My husky really does love being around us! She sleeps at the end of my bed all night. I also have another dog we got from the pound and they are best friends. That way she is never alone! They are very stubborn...that is a fact! But I wouldn't trade her for anything!
