Do not heat it up. The peel and sticks came right up, however the glue did not. The vinyl flooring glue never dried.

    • 2

Do not wear clothes that you really like. Open all the windows in the house, make sure you have plenty of ventilation. Grab your can of paint thinner and your putty knife. Peel up any linoleum, that you can, by just using your own strength with your hands. If who ever laid your vinyl flooring used underlay perhaps you will not need to do all of this work.

Get down on your hands and knees, pour a little bit of paint thinner on the most exposed area of the vinyl tile, making sure that you are getting the paint thinner where it can seep under the vinyl floor. This will make the glue slippery and easier to remove.

Grab your putty knife and let the scraping begin. Each piece of your vinyl floor covering is a little different. Some pieces may come up easily and others may seem like they will never come up. The paint thinner evaporates very quickly so you will want to plan on working fast.
