How to become a famous Comedian

If you love to make others laugh and jokes come natural, a comedian is a great career. Comedians do not start out making tons of money but they get to have fun working. It takes hard work to become a famous comedian, but it will pay off in the end. You have to stay at it though!

Things You'll Need:

  • Sense of Humor
  • Jokes
  1. Step 1

    Memorize your routine. Do not copy other comedians jokes, make your own.

  2. Step 2

    Practice your routine on friends and family and ask for feedback.

  3. Step 3

    Contact local comedy clubs to see if they have an amateur night. Sign up for them!

  4. Step 4

    Perform at all amateur nights you can. After your routine, ask for feedback and suggestions from the crown and other comedians. Stay true to your sense of humor though!

  5. Step 5

    Perform at several amateur nights using different routines. See what works and what does not.

  6. Step 6

    Start your own website about yourself, like a Comedian Resume. Post clips of your routines and put in your contact information.

  7. Step 7

    Start a Comedian Myspace page with clips from your shows. Add all the friends you can.

  8. Step 8

    Join comedian message boards to see where you can perform and to get tips. Post links to your website and Myspace page there.

  9. Step 9

    Join Improv groups for comedians.

  10. Step 10

    Read books on performing in front of people and Comedy in general.

  11. Step 11

    Keep a notebook with you at all times to write down anything funny that comes to you.

  12. Step 12

    Always learn new things and never give up! You can be a famous Comedian!
