Things You'll Need:
- old pair of kids' denim jeans
- red, white, blue, or star patterned fabric
- star cookie cutter
- Glitter fabric paint
- Stitch Witchery
- Fabric Glue
- Sewing Machine
- Matching Thread
- 2 - 1" "D" Rings

Step 1
Star FabricUsing a cookie cutter or stencil, trace shape on backside of fabric with a pen or pencil. To make pair of kids' jeans as shown you will need three red stars and two blue stars.

Step 2
Place cut out stars onto piece of stitch witchery with right side of fabric facing up. Cut out shapes.

Step 3
Patriotic JeansLay out fabric stars on top of jean leg.
Iron in place.
(If you don't with to use stitch witchery, you can use fabric glue instead.) -
Step 4
Star PocketPlace star on back pocket, opposite side of front leg with stars.

Step 5
Patriotic Jean CuffsMeasure around cuff of jean legs. Cut two strips of fabric 4 inches wide by measurement around leg.
Tuck in 1/2" on each side of fabric length wise and sew around the bottom cuffs of jean legs. -
Step 6
Fabric Painted DenimUsing Clear drying glitter fabric glue, trace around edges of star appliques on front and back of jeans. You will need to do one side at a time in order to allow them to sit for a few hours and dry.

Step 7
Patriotic BeltCut piece of red star fabric 22" long by 3" wide. Fold fabric in half length-wise. Tuck in 1/4" of fabric along all ends and stitch up both sides and ends.

Step 8
Star Spangled BeltSlide two 1" "D" rings over fabric belt. Fold over 2" inches of belt and pull "D" rings to end of loop. Stitch down line to hold in place. Then proceed to stitch an "X" on remaining fabric tab and stitch around edges of tab in a square.

Step 9
Kids' Patriotic JeansSlip belt through jean loops. Your ready to present your kids' patriotic jeans to them.
