Buying a gift for a beginner tennis player is easy with these tips. Here are some great ideas for a beginner tennis player gift.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

A good beginner tennis racquet is a great idea if your beginner doesn't already have his or her own racquet. Very often beginners borrow a racquet from a friend or relative until they decide they like the sport.

See my resources below for an article on how to buy a beginner tennis racquet if you need help.

  2. Step 2

Tennis balls are a wonderful idea for beginners. If you don't know anything about tennis you may think this is a silly idea but for beginners, this is actually a great idea. Why? Because beginners lose more balls than you can count.

  3. Step 3

A tennis racquet carrier bag is a great idea as well. This is a bag that basically zips around the tennis racquet and has a shoulder strap for easy transporting. While this isn't really a mandatory item for beginners, it certainly is a nice thing to have. It keeps their hands free and will protect their racket from damage. That's right, I said, racket. Both spellings are actually correct so be sure if you are shopping online to use both spellings in the search box.

  4. Step 4

A visor is another great idea for tennis players. Sunglasses are great but they do fall of your head if you are playing rough and they aren't strapped to your head. Visors have actually come along way since the 70's so don't be bashful about buying a tennis visor. All the cool athletic brands make them now including Nike, Adidas and Champion.

  5. Step 5

Tennis clothes are always a useful item. Women will appreciate skorts, these are tennis skirts with a short built in side them to cover their rear end. Men and women will be able to use athletic shorts and shirts. If your beginner tennis player plays at a tennis club, a collared shirt may be required so a polo shirt is a good idea for these people. Otherwise, cool tennis shirts can be found at your local sporting goods store. Some of these shirts even have pockets in the back of the shirt to hold tennis balls. Something a beginner really appreciates since they use so many tennis balls.
