Homemade Iced tea is the best thirst quencher in the summer! My recipe is sugar free so that diabetics and people on diets can enjoy that sweet tea taste without compromising their health. You do not need an expensive machine to make iced tea, a tea kettle, glass jar, tea bags, and artificial sweetener is all you need!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tea Kettle
  • Half gallon glass jar with lid (glass apple juice jars work the best)
  • 3 tea bags
  • rubber band
  • 5 artificial sweetener packets
  1. Step 1

Fill a tea kettle with water, put on the stove to boil.

  2. Step 2

While water is boiling, remove wrappers from tea bags, place tea bags into mouth of jar and secure around jar with a rubber band (hair elastics also work well).

  3. Step 3

When water is done boiling, carefully add hot water to jar. If needed, add hot tap water to fill to approxiamtly two innches from top of jar.

  4. Step 4

Open and add packets of sweetener to jar.

  5. Step 5

Let cool for 2 hours, replace cap and shake gently. Place in refrigerator to chill and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • More tea bags can be added for taste.
  • More or less sweetener can be added for taste. Sugar can also be substituted.
  • Jar can be washed after using, so that you can enjoy again and again.
  • Pour water into the jar over the sink. Boiling water can be very hot!
