How to Make and Mold Gelatin Desserts

There is no dessert in the world that is easier to prepare than gelatin desserts. Each individual package has all the ingredients already contained including color, sugar, flavor, and gelatin. To start out to make your gelatin desserts you need to use 1-pint liquid to- package of Jell-O or other gelatin dessert. Always remember a pint a package.
Pour hot liquid over Jell-O and remember liquid can be water, fruit juice, or combination of other liquids. Liquid should not be boiling. 1 cup of hot liquid should be used to dissolve Jell-O. The remaining liquid may be added cold after all gelatin is dissolved. Having all of that in mind the articles you are fixing to read are recipes for gelatin desserts.

    First things first is whipped Jell-O. A thickened Jell-O mixture will whip up like egg white to make a delicate sponge type dessert. Fruit or cream may be added in, or egg white beaten with the whip for a "Snow." All you need is a good egg beater and a bowl of ice and water.

  2. Step 2

    Jello creams and snows are delicious, you can create them by adding light cream into a whipped gelatin. You should usually start out with a stiffer Jell-O because added cream will soften it. Prepare the Jell-O for whipping with only 1 1/2 cup liquid to 1 pkg. Jell-O. Add 1 or 2 unbeaten egg whites to the slightly thickened Jell-O base and whip together until mixture is fluffy.

  3. Step 3

    You can make Jell-O cubes by molding Jell-O in a shallow pan about 8x8x2. Chill until very firm.Cut in cubes, using sharp knife warmed in water to avoid tearing edge of cubes. Unfold on waxed paper, or remove cubes from pan with spatula.
