Make a Golf Bag Organizer

Golf bag organizers are the perfect way to keep all your golf equipment tidy in between rounds and retail for about $90. But you can also make your own from an old book case, with room to store two golf bags and shelves for your other equipment.

Things You'll Need

  • A bookcase, four feet wide by four feet high
  • 18 bricks
  • Jigsaw/hammer/screwdriver
  • Adhesive

Instructions

    • 1

Remove all the shelves from the bookcase except the bottom shelf. For dovetailed shelves, you will need to use the jigsaw to cut them out, but some shelves are easily removed with a hammer or screwdriver without damaging the walls of the case.

    • 2

Saw a segment 12 inches wide out of the middle of each shelf that you have removed. These will be used to build the central shelf column.

    • 3

Make two stacks of three bricks one foot apart in the middle of the bottom shelf (each six inches from the center). Use adhesive to glue the bricks into place, fastening them to both the bottom shelf and to each other.

    • 4

Place one of the middle-shelf segments on top of the stacks of bricks, spanning the distance between them and glue it into place.

    • 5

Stack more bricks and more shelves to whatever heights you choose. You can vary the number of bricks between shelves for different supplies. A pair of golf shoes, for example, will require more room than a box of golf balls but less than a driving range bucket of balls.

    • 6

Sand the edges of the shelves to prevent splintering, both at the sawed edges and where they were removed from the side boards. The golf bags should fit in on either side of the column of shelves, which will hold all your other equipment.
