Step 1
Press the shirt. Make sure the shirt is ironed carefully, especially around the collar and buttons. Lay the shirt on its back on a made bed or a table, and button it up all the way. The button-down collars should also be buttoned up.
-
Step 2
Turn the shirt over. Pick up the shirt by the shoulders and turn it over on its reverse side. Smooth all the creases from the fabric and lay it out flat again. Fold the sleeve across the back of the shirt, pulling the edge of the shirt folded about 2 inches. Fold the sleeve cuff back upon itself, ensuring that the cuff lies at roughly the center of the shirt back.
-
Step 3
Fold the other side of the shirt in a similar way. When the shirt is folded on both sides it should be about 9 inches wide. Use this time to straighten any creases that may have formed in the fabric of the shirt and straighten any creases that you are folding along.
-
Step 4
Fold the entire shirt in half. The shirt should still be front down at this stage so take the shirt-tail end of the shirt and fold it over onto itself, ensuring that the shirt-tail end is behind the collar. Then turn the entire folded shirt back over, smoothing it down manually.
