Floating flower arrangements are beautiful and so simple to make. There can always be a fresh and new arrangement for display with minimal expense. Flowers will last for several days, and as they start to expire, they can be traded out with fresh flowers. Combining different floral types and colors makes a nice arrangement for the dinner table. And a small bowl with a single flower is a lovely addition to a desk or a bathroom vanity.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clear glass bowl
  • Marbles or colored stones
  • Flowers
  1. Step 1

Select a clear bowl of a moderate height. Most arrangements look nice in a bowl that is 5 to 6 inches tall. The bowl does not need to be round--rectangular shapes will look just as nice.

  2. Step 2

Fill the bottom of the bowl with marbles or colored stones.

  3. Step 3

Fill the bowl with water up to an inch from the rim.

  4. Step 4

Cut the stems from the flowers, leaving one inch of stem. Flowers that work well for these arrangements include gerbera daisies, gardenias and lilies.

  5. Step 5

Place the flowers gently into the bowl.

Tips & Warnings
  • Colored water will be absorbed into the flowers through the stem. Choose white flowers if you decide to use colored water.
