MIDI is the language used for recording keyboard synthesizers and other kinds of music created on an instrument recorded through a computer. MIDI is only able to record notes produced by an instrument so it is unable to process vocals. Because of this, MIDI is ideal for karaoke and backing tracks. Compared to MP3 files, MIDIs are significantly smaller because all the sounds are converted into what can be played on a keyboard. Converting to MIDI takes little time at all and is easy to do.
