How to Change Port Numbers for SMTP
When you add an e-mail account to Apple Mail or Microsoft Outlook, the e-mail client automatically sets the SMTP port to the default port number. SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, and SMTP ports determine what outgoing messages are allowed through the sever. If your e-mail service requires a different SMTP port number from the default for your program, you will need to change the port number manually.
