1
Take the forty-five inch chicken wire (at least two feet). You can buy this wire at about any hardware store. Usually, the chicken wire comes in a large roll. You can then cut it down to a forty-five inch piece using wire cutters.

2
Use your hands to roll the chicken wire into a cylinder shape. To secure the cylinder shape wire, twist the wire ends together. This will keep both sides secure.

Take the bottom of the wire and fold the wire at the top of the cylinder and then at the bottom. You want the design to have the rough shape of a rectangle. Take your time; this will be a slow process. The wire isn't easily molded so have patience. Mash the wire on both sides. Keep doing this until you have created a ball design.

Use the mini Christmas lights and began using the end that will plug into the extension cord and began wrapping the mini bulbs around the chicken wire. Make sure to leave enough to hang down to be able to plug into the extension cord. Continue wrapping around the ball just as you would your Christmas tree. The end of the mini lights should be tied to the chicken wire.

Use chicken wire for different craft projects including using chicken wire for mini Christmas bulbs. To do this, cut a strip of chicken wire and begin mashing together into a thick wire. Now take the mini bulbs and began wrapping around the chicken wire. This is a creative way to decorate for the holidays by using the chicken wire to securely hang the Christmas lights.
