How to Convert From FLV to MP4

Flash video (FLV) is a streaming video format used by YouTube and Google Videos. Flash videos can be downloaded from YouTube via third-party websites, and can then be converted into other video formats. MP4, or MPEG4 video format, can be used by iPhones and Sony PSPs.

Instructions

      Download your Flash video file from YouTube or another streaming video provider. You can download flash video files using software such as the VideoDownloader Firefox extension, or Orbit Downloader or websites such as keepvid.com or Videodl.org

      Download and install Super © (see Resources). Run Super ©.

      Drag and drop your FLV file into the lower portion of the Super © window.

      In the "Select the Output Container" drop-down menu near the top of the Super © window, choose "MP4." You can choose the codec that your MP4 video will use in the drop-down menu next to this: for iPhones and PSPs the choice should be "H.264/AVC."

      Press the "Encode" button near the bottom of the Super © window to convert the FLV file to MP4.
