MP3 audio is a digital audio format that is commonly used in digital music programs and portable music players alike. MP3 consists of lossy data compression audio.
Waveform audio format (WAV) is an audio data compression format that supports high quality audio files. WAV audio files can be compressed or uncompressed, and therefore vary in size as compared to MP3 files. There are players that only support WAV playback, therefore MP3 files have to be converted to this format using an audio converter program.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Download Switch Audio Converter completely free. Follow the setup instructions, select a location to save your program, then finalize the installation.

  2. Step 2

Launch your program from the location that you saved it, then click "Add Files" on your program. Locate your MP3 file from your computer, then click "Open" to load it to your program.

  3. Step 3

Click the "Browse" button, then select the output folder where you want to save your file after it has been converted. Click the "Output to same folder as source file" check-box if you want your converted audio file to be saved in the same location as the input file.

  4. Step 4

Select "WAV" in the "Output Format" window, then click the "Encoder Options" to manually adjust your output audio quality and bit-rate settings. Select "Stereo" channel for a balanced left and right audio playback, then click "OK" to save your changes.

  5. Step 5
