How to prepare and undertake the traditional training in Shaolin Kung Fu in China.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your travel basics
  • Baggy trousers
  • Mental Preparation
  1. Step 1

Find your school as soon in advance is possible to start your preparation. Schools may vary a lot in size, conditions, students, have a school grounds etc. you're staying in a nearby guesthouse. Email past students and the school to make sure it seems good. Decided, book your flight and make travel arrangements to the school.

  2. Step 2

Start your preparation at home for stamina exercise, strength training and flexibility, being able to do Yoga would be excellent preparation for the training to come. Most importantly though of course is mental preparation so that you don't give up after it gets challenging.

  3. Step 3

Try to arrive just before the weekend so you can have a few days to settle in with jetlag etc. before starting training. Be aware of issues such as culture shock and enjoy the peace ..if you've found a peaceful school(!).

  4. Step 4

Perservere in training and if your master is authentic, bow low to him and follow his teaching. Lose a strong sense of self and trust in what is asked of you. Master's will sometimes push you only as far as they think you can go, so your effort will be a big factor.
    That is all.
