1
Don't overly accelerate when shifting to a higher gear. Many times when you shift to a higher gear you don't need to add more gas. By watching your acceleration you'll save gas when shifting to higher gears.
-
2
When at a stop light, don't rev the engine and use up unnecessary amounts of gas - only use what is needed to maintain the idle RPM's.

3
If you're driving at a speed which could be two different gears - shift up. You'll be at the same speed, but a lower RPMs which will use less and ultimately save gas.
-
4
Try to control your speed with just your gas pedal so you brake less and therefore need less gas to accelerate. Stay a further distance away, use your gas pedal for speed adjustments (on/off) instead of aggressively braking.
