Things You'll Need:
- easy set pool
- fill dirt (optional)
- air pump
- hose
-
Step 1
Preparing a spot: Set up the site where you are going to put the pool. It is very important that this spot is level. An un-level spot can cause the pool to roll and pour out the water. You might have to put fill dirt or sand down to level out an area. You can also dig to level it out. To do this, start at the taller end and dig until it matches the shorter end and keep it somewhat flat.
-
Step 2
Setup: Once the area is level, put down the ground cover or ground cloth that came with the pool, or a tarp. Unfold the pool and lay it over the tarp. Turn the pool so that the drain and the pump ports are where they can be used. Using an air pump (manual or electric), pump up the top ring up.
-
Step 3
Put the hose in the pool and start filling it. Depending on the size of your pool this can take anywhere from 2-8 hours. When there is about 1 inch of water, have someone get inside and smooth out the wrinkles, if you wait until there is more water in it the pressure can make it hard to get these wrinkles out. When it is full turn on the pump and put in your choice of chemicals. You can find the chemicals that work best in your climate by doing a web search of pool chemicals for your state.
-
Step 4
Maintenance: make sure to use your pump to keep the water clear, it's helpful to use a timer so you don't have to turn it on and off everyday. Keep up with your chemicals, use a test strip before swimming to be sure it is safe. Use the skimmer often to get out leaves and other large debris that can get caught in the pump.
