How to Transplant Lavender From One Pot to Another

Lavender is a wonderful aroma filled plant. It is sure to bring joy to every home but you have to give it room to grow. If your lavender is potted and you want to keep it that way make sure you transplant it to a large sturdy pot to keep it growing and happy.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large Pot of your choice
  • Potting Soil
  • Lavender Plant
  • Gloves
  • Water
  1. Step 1

    Grab a pot that is about three times bigger than your lavender plant. This pot will last you a good while and give your plant lots of room to grow. Place small rocks or pebbles in the bottom of your pot for drainage.

    Cover the small rocks or pebbles with sturdy potting soil. Miracle Grow works wonders. Fill the pot with soil about half way.

    Take your lavender in the pot it is currently planted in and gently pull it out. Break up the roots at the bottom so they can spread. Place your lavender in its new home. Cover the remaining area around the lavender with soil. Fill it to the top.

    Water your newly potted plant to make sure it is comfortable in its new home.

Tips & Warnings
  • Water your lavender once a day. If the soil is still moist wait until it is dry to water it again.
  • Don't keep your lavender cooped up. They love sunshine so a windowsill that gets plenty of sun in the morning or afternoon is perfect!
