Knowing ways to conserve water is very important for Southern California due to water shortages currently and water levels are still dropping because of dropped rainfall levels and other factors. In the near future, southern Californians are facing water rationing if we continue to use water carelessly. Find out ways to conserve water today before the problem gets more serious.

  1. Step 1

    In recent years, the water reserve levels in Southern California have significantly dropped. Nowadays, water conservation is very important to the whole water industry in California. Everyone must try their best to conserve water or else face water rationing.

  2. Step 2

    One of the best ways to conserve water is to use less. For those that shower over thirty minutes a day, try to cut it down by five minutes. Although five minutes is not a lot but if lots of people do the same, we will save lots of water everyday.

  3. Step 3

    Another way to conserve water is avoid unnecessary loss. Save more water by tightening your facet to avoid clean water running down the drain. Leaky facets can result in huge water losses because they continuously leak small amounts of water until they are fixed.

  4. Step 4

    Conserve water by using alternative ways to clean. For those that like to clean their drive way by spraying it with water uses lots of water each time they do that. It is better to sweep your drive way instead of spraying it with water.

  5. Step 5

    Another way to conserve water is get the newest technology that helps water conservation. There are low flow toilets available nowadays that can save lots of water each time it is used.

  6. Step 6

    For those that own their houses, they will have to water the plants and grass to keep them in good health. It is better to use a sprinkler system instead of spraying with the water hose. The sprinkler system help the plants get enough water without wasting any extra water. In addition to conserving water, it also saves you money by lowering your water bills.
