Things You'll Need:
- 2 pair yellow latex gloves
- Gardening gloves
- Travel size lotion
- Sun block
- Thick lotion or cream
-
Step 1
Keep travel sizes handy..Moisturize often. Keep a travel size moisturizer on hand in your purse or your car. I love the Bath and Body Works moisturizers that are antibacterial. Hand sanitizers are a must. Unfortunately standard sanitizers tend to dry skin. So moisturize with one that contain antibacterial benefits. Also at night apply a thicker cream to your hands before bed. Body butter types creams work well. There are also a ton of products on the market that include a night time hand cream and gloves to wear over it while you sleep. You can also wear socks on your hands for a quick fix too.
-
Step 2
Keep extra pairs on hand .Wear gloves when doing dishes and cleaning . Water and cleansers are very drying to your hands. Even natural cleansers cause dryness. Use separate gloves for dishes and cleaning. I shutter at the thought of doing dishes with the same gloves I just used to clean a bathroom. Also keep a pair of good gardening gloves handy. Of course you will use them when gardening. You will also want to use them when doing any outdoor duties like sweeping your patio. The wooden handles on brooms will cause blisters and calluses. I wear them when I am reorganizing my garage as well. Lifting boxes or moving heavy objects will keep your hands safe and protected.
-
Step 3
Sun damages hands!!Apply sun block to your hands when you will be spending a lot of time outdoors. Even when enjoying water activities. When in the water choose a water proof sun block that is good for high activity. Your hands age like the rest of your skin . They tend to look older far before their time because they go unprotected and ignored. So avoid liver spots and wrinkles on your hands by caring for them now.
-
Step 4
Exfoliate your hands often. Your hands need love too. Exfoliate them as you would your body or face. When you use a body scrub do your hands too. If you are using a facial product that is not medical grade use it on your hands too. Remember when exfoliating your hands to get in between your fingers too. Always follow up with the proper moisturizer.
