In these economic times spending money on another activity for your child can be overwhelming. Your child grows out of the old uniform and you would like to spend just a little less for replacing it. One way our Cub Scout Pack has tried to alleviate the cost for some families was by starting a uniform exchange.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • used cub scout uniforms
  • card board box
  1. Step 1

If you're child is just beginning cub scouts or has grown out of his old uniform it can get expensive for some parents to provide new uniforms. Approach the parents of your Scout pack or the Cub master with the idea of creating a uniform exchange.

  2. Step 2

Get a cardboard box (free at the grocery store) and label it "Uniform Exchange". Bring this box to every den or pack meeting that your pack decides is appropiate. Advertise to all parents to donate used uniforms their boys have grown out of. Advise the parents to check this box for used items their boy may need.

  3. Step 3

Items that can be placed into the uniform exchange include but are not limited to: Hats, shirts, pants, shorts, belts, neckerchiefs, neckerchief slides, socks, books. Anything that can be used for an approved Boy scouts of America uniform can be placed in there.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make this a well known option for families by talking about it at recruitment nights and meetings
