M4V is a video format developed by Apple and used on iPod players and Sony PSPs. This format uses DRM protection to prevent files from being copied and used on other portable video players and video-sharing websites.
To convert M4V files to Windows Media Audio (WMA) format, you need a DRM protection removal program. Such a program legally removes the DRM protection from your purchased M4V files and converts them to a WMA format that you can play and upload wherever you like.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Download Daniusoft WMA MP3 Converter (see Resources). Follow the setup and installation instructions to install it on your computer. This program has a DRM protection remover.

  2. Step 2

Launch the program from the location where you saved it, then click "+ Add" on the top main panel. Locate the M4V file on your computer, then click "Open" to load it to your program. The file will likely be in the music or video folder of your documents folder.

  3. Step 3

Select "WMA" from the "Convert to" window, then click the "Settings" tab. Adjust the audio quality and bitrate settings. Select "Stereo" for left and right audio playback.

  4. Step 4

Click "Browse" to select the output path for where you want to save your output file. Click "Start." When the conversion is complete, your file will be a WMA audio file.
