Instructions

    • 1

Prepare the surface of your blank mouse pad for painting by applying a coat of Mod Podge to the entire front surface. Just paint it on with the sponge paintbrush. Allow it to dry completely, usually about an hour or two.

    • 2

Repeat Step 1. These sealing coats will provide your acrylic paints with a surface that they will stick to nicely.

    • 3

Choose an acrylic paint color for the base coat of your mouse pad. Use a paintbrush to cover the Mod Podge with the acrylic. Let the paint dry thoroughly. Apply a second base coat after the first one dries if you think that it's needed.

    • 4

Paint your design on the base coat with acrylics. Avoid thick globs of paint, which could cause the mouse to stick and hang up on them. Let your painting dry completely.

    • 5

Seal the entire surface of the painted mouse pad with two more coats of Mod Podge, drying sufficiently between applications. This will provide a smooth ride for your mouse.
