How to Install a Bazooka Tube Subwoofer

The Bazooka tube subwoofer is a staple of car audio systems. These bass enclosures come pre-loaded with a subwoofer, and will provide plenty of powerful bass for your car system. As with any car subwoofer, it's important to install it correctly for the best sound quality.

Things You'll Need:

• Screwdriver
• Drill
• Speaker wire

1. Screw the two mounting bases for the subwoofer into the floor of your car's interior or trunk. Position the two bases so that when the tube is resting on them, there is about three inches of tube overlap on each end. If necessary, make a small pilot hole for the screws with the drill.

2. 
   Strap arrangement

   Lace the two mounting straps through the bases. Look at the base from overhead. On the right inside edge of the base you'll see an opening for the strap. Feed it through and then immediately out of the opening at the top. Feed the strap into the opening on the right outside of the base, and take it across the bottom of the base. Feed the strap out of the outside opening on the left side, over the edge, down into the opening on the top and out of the opening on the inside of the left side of the base.

3. Place the tube onto the mounting bases and run the straps around the tube, feeding the free ends through the buckles. Pull the buckles tight to hold the tube in place.

4. 
   Amplifier speaker terminals

   Connect a length of speaker wire from the amplifier's speaker terminals to the input terminals of the Bazooka tube.

Tips & Warnings

• Check the straps for tightness periodically.
